Dunshaughlin dominated the first half with captain Neil O'Dwyer scoring an early point. It was a different Dunderry team in the second half and despite another free from Declan O'Dwyer and a point from Farrelly, Dunderry, who operated out of Division 2 last year, went on to score 1-12 against a tiring Dunshaughlin outfit to run out eight point winners in the end Best for Dunshaughlin were Neil O'Dwyer, Declan O'Dwyer, Sean Joyce, Owen Farrely and Owen Herlihy Dunshaughlin - Jimmy Kelliher, Sean Joyce, Ulick McDonnell, Ray Yore, Neil O'Dwyer (0-1), Ciaran Hoary, Mark Devanney, Declan O'Dwyer (0-3 frees), Owen Herlihy, Owen Farrelly (0-2), Pascal McErlean, Cillian Dennehy, Jamie Minnock (0-2 frees), JJ McDonnell, Niall Clusker (1-0)

07/03/2010    Competition:  ACFL B League Div 1    Grade:  ACFL B League Div 1
Dunshaughlin 3-11    Skryne 3-9
Referee: Tom Lorton
Venue: Skryne
Match Info: 3pm Throw In
Report:
Dunshaughlin survived a late onslaught from neighbours Skryne to come out two point winners in this B League Division 1 encounter played in Skryne. Dunshaughlin played with the aid of a stiff breeze in the first half and led by 0-4 to 0-1 after 14 minutes with Niall Murphy and Martin Reilly scoring a brace of points each. The Tara men then got back in the game with a scrappy goal after 16 minutes but this was immediately cancelled out by a terrific goal scored by Michael Johnson. With Cillian Finn and Graham Dowd dominating at midfield Dunshaughlin played some terrific football in the rest of the half with Reilly, Johnson and Tadhg O'Dushlaine adding points and Murphy tapping in a goal after John Crimmins effort was saved. The black and ambers led by 2-8 to 1-2 at the break. Duncan Geraghty scored a free just after the resumption and when Paddy McHale got on the end of a great Dunshaughlin move to score a well taken goal with his trustworthy left foot, it looked as though Dunshaughlin were going to run out convincing winners. But Skryne didn't lie down and sent over a string of points and kept in touch with Dunshaughlins only reply coming from a point from McHale and a free from Reilly. The win still seemed assured for Dunshaughlin when they led by 3-11 to 1-8 with 2 minutes remaining but Skryne gave Dunshaughlin a massive fright with two late goals and but for goalkeeper Stephen Clusker tipping over another goal bound effort might have snatched an unlikely draw. Best for Dunshaughlin were Kevin Moyles, Tadhg O'Dushlaine, Cillian Finn, Martin Reilly and Niall Murphy Dunshaughlin - Stephen Clusker, Kevin Moyles, Fearghal Gogan, Kevin Ward, Eoin Hagarty, Michael Ahern, Tadhg O'Dushlaine, Cillian Finn, Graham Dowd, Martin Reilly (0-5 3 frees), Paddy McHale (1-1), Duncan Geraghty (0-1 free), Niall Murphy (1-2), John Crimmins, Michael Johnson (1-1) Substitutes - David McMahon for Murphy, Eamonn Bowe for Geraghty, Emmet Staunton for O'Dushlaine, Ronnie Yore for Moyles, Fearghal Delaney for Reilly
